Hiring for your logistics company can be a long and stressful process, especially in a new market region being readied for development. That is why Tandem Logistics, a third party brokerage in Austin, TX, partnered with CS Recruiting, a transportation and logistics recruiting firm, to help them find the right candidate from the Texas market.

Tandem Logistics was looking for a candidate with strong sales leadership experience who would be able to help build out their business development strategy. Through their sourcing and networking abilities, CS Recruiting was able to find multiple candidates that fell under the requirements that Tandem Logistics was looking for.

The Problem: Tandem Logistics was looking for a VP of sales candidate in the Texas market but they were new to the search in that area. They found the Austin market was unsaturated with competition and thus, difficult to locate relevant local talent. They felt they had a gap in their hierarchy and wanted to get a fresh mind on board for their leadership team. Tandem Logistics needed help finding someone that could fit in with the company culture and handle all the tasks at hand.

The Solution: Tandem Logistics decided to partner with CS Recruiting to help find the right executive level talent. CS Recruiting helped find a strong candidate, who at the time was currently in a senior account executive role with a different company. President of Tandem Logistics, Phil Sneed, agreed to give the candidate an offer and relied on him to diversify into new modes of freight, specifically LTL. The candidate came to the hiring table with excellent recommendations from his customers and really knew how to deliver top-notch service.

The Result: The candidate was originally hired as more of an independent selling contributor but is now responsible for building out a team, making hires and acting as a strategic leader for the company.

With the help from CS Recruiting, Tandem Logistics was able to hire on a strong VP of sales that exceeded expectations and now plays a key role in the organization. To this day, Tandem Logistics believes the VP of sales was a great hire and they would not have been as lucky to find him without the help of CS Recruiting.
