Carrier Sales Representative
The Carrier Sales Representative will report to the Director of Carrier Sales.
They will be responsible for execution of day-to-day operations and initiatives for the Carrier Sales team. This position will be responsible for performing at a high level within the carrier sales function. They must be able to build and maintain strategic carrier relationships for our client’s contractual business and SPOT freight opportunities. This highly motivated individual will grow new and existing business and have a proven ability to maximize relationships with carriers utilizing personal contacts, networking, and strong negotiating skills to grow sustainable
profitable business relationships.

Job Type: Full-time

Responsibilities:
  • Ability to oversee freight board and execute negotiation strategies based on market conditions.
  • Ability to build lane density within a region or lane corridor.
  • Ability to build routing guides for lanes that move 5+ times in month.
  • Execute our client’s tracking automation requirements.
  • Understands how to strategically build carrier relationships for our client’s existing freight network.
  • Execute carrier sourcing initiatives.
  • Works hand in hand with their manager on relevant initiatives.
  • Reacts and responds to Uncovered/Recovery emails with team gameplan for coverage.
  • Assists solidifying carrier offers on loads, activating carriers, and creating gateways.
Experience:
  • High School Diploma required. B.A. in Logistics/Supply Chain, Business, or Marketing preferred.
  • Knowledgeable on various freight market trends based on seasonality, geography, and specialized carrier types.
  • Has an interest in learning industry knowledge & trends beyond day-to-day role.
  • Able to multi-task, manage ambiguity, and manage time effectively.
  • Strong communication skills both over the phone and in person.
  • Strong written and verbal communication.
  • Excellent customer service and employee relations skills.
  • Can make effective decisions in a high-stress environment.
  • Strong ability to use organizational skills to plan tasks effectively and use forward thinking to predict future changes.
  • Team player & can effectively work in teams.
  • Strong proficiency with computer applications and software.

This position offers a competitive base salary plus commission.
