Senior Sales Executive - Freight Brokerage
Our client is seeking a highly driven and experienced professional to serve as a Senior Sales Executive – Freight Brokerage. In this role, you will lead the charge in launching and managing our client’s new Chicago office. As a key player in the expansion, you’ll build and mentor a high-performing sales team, drive revenue growth, and shape the future of the company in one of the nation’s most dynamic logistics markets. This position is ideal for an ambitious individual with freight brokerage expertise, leadership experience, and a passion for building teams and delivering results.

Job Type: Full-time/Work from home

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the setup and day-to-day operations of our client’s Chicago location.
  • Build a high-performing sales and operations team to support market growth.
  • Leverage existing relationships and market knowledge to grow your own book of business.
  • Identify and target new clients through networking, cold calling, and other lead generation methods.
  • Train Account Executives and sales professionals.
  • Provide ongoing mentorship, performance coaching, and in-person training to ensure team success.
  • Set and achieve aggressive sales benchmarks, quotas, and KPIs for the team.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to develop sales strategies and annual budgets.
  • Organize team-building events and sales contests to motivate and engage staff.
  • Develop best practices, templates, and training materials for the sales team.
  • Work closely with our client’s Denver operations team to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Utilize the company’s cutting-edge TMS to provide clients with real-time updates and 24/7 live tracking.

Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred. Equivalent work experience in logistics or sales management will be considered.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience managing a book of business within the freight brokerage industry.
  • At least 2-3 years of management experience in any industry, with demonstrated success in recruiting, training, and leading teams.
  • Proven ability to independently drive sales growth and develop successful client relationships.
  • Experience in fast-paced, entrepreneurial settings is highly desirable.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Excellent leadership, coaching, and team-building skills.
  • Strong communication skills, including interpersonal, verbal, and written.
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Comfortable with cold calling and client prospecting.
  • Proficient in leveraging technology and tools for client and team success.
  • Strong understanding of logistics operations and market trends.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills to build a cohesive and high-performing team.
  • Ability to develop training materials and mentor sales staff.
  • A strategic thinker with the ability to execute on long-term growth initiatives.
  • Comfortable navigating the challenges of a startup or growing organization.

This position offers a competitive base salary.
