Driver Recruiter & Safety Admin
The Driver Recruiter & Safety Admin is responsible for effectively onboarding new drivers while also being responsible for driver safety and compliance that covers industry and company standards. This position is responsible for assisting with the continuing education and development of all drivers as a proactive effort to help mitigate accidents and injuries and acts as a liaison between drivers and other company personnel and requires periodic travel.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform driver and Owner/Operator steps in qualifying to ensure criteria and standards are upheld.
  • Assist in collecting market data for drivers in the Northeast Region.
  • Assist with Orientation Class for onboarding and safety related items.
  • Utilize various sourcing methods to identify potential candidates, including social media, job boards, networking events, and referrals for Company Local, Regional, Long haul CDL Driver’s and Independent Contracted Drivers.
  • Develop and implement creative sourcing strategies to build a robust talent pipeline.
  • Conduct candidate screenings and schedule in person interviews to assess qualifications and fit for specific roles.
  • Maintain contact with candidates throughout the pre-boarding and onboarding process with updates.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date candidate information in the applicant tracking system (ATS).
  • Collaborate with hiring managers and HR to understand hiring needs and priorities.
  • Collaborate with HR for new Hire Materials
  • Collaborate with Dispatch for load and Departure times
  • Collaborate with the Maintenance Shop for truck assignment.
  • Engage passive candidates through targeted outreach and relationship-building efforts.
  • Enforce safety policy and procedures through engagement and education.
  • Respond to safety related incidents and conduct investigations to prevent recurrence.
  • Conduct new driver training and annual, or as needed, refresher training, including Hours of Service Compliance parts 395.
  • Conduct and maintain all driver education programs.
Experience:
  • Minimum of high school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 3 years in Safety, Compliance, Training, Driver Recruitment or related field, preferably within the transportation industry.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook are required.
  • Strong knowledge of sourcing techniques and tools, including Boolean search and social media platforms and job boards.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proven experience recruiting in logistics or warehousing industry strongly preferred.
  • Class A CDL a plus but not a requirement.

This position offers a competitive base salary.
