Experienced leader to establish strategies and oversee their execution in support of our client’s growing Linehaul/Cross Dock Operations. The Linehaul & Cross-Dock Operations Director will manage and coordinate the activates of the Linehaul Supervisors and department. Manage Linehaul Supervisors’ performance and training to maximize effective utilization of resources and to ensure customer satisfaction. Ultimately responsible for Linehaul functions and management.

Responsibilities:
- Manages Linehaul schedules and plans to maximize capacity.
- Minimize partial trailer loads.
- Ensure service integrity for specific areas.
- Communicate the status of Linehaul operations to upper management and relay information to department heads.
- Manage work assignments, monitor performance and provide training on duties, policies and procedures.
- Communicate clear performance expectations to ensure high-performance work environment and proactively provide specific, balanced and timely coaching/feedback to reinforce and encourage high performance and promote a culture of teamwork.
- Communicate company safety program enforces safety rules and compliance with all government regulations. Maintain a safe work environment at all times.
- Manage supervisory responsibilities such as hiring, training, performance appraisal, and employee development.
- Ability to manage and operate a 24/7 building, ensuring all shifts are adequately covered and supervised.
- Supervises 200 plus direct and indirect staff, responsible for hiring, coaching, training, and developing subordinate staff.
- Assigns work, sets completion dates, reviews work, and manages performance in accordance with organizational policies, procedures, and performance management processes.
- Responsible for root cause analysis and implementation of corrective measures to address and minimize reoccurring challenges.
- Establish and maintain a trusting, inclusive, and productive environment that delivers results.
- Will be required to travel to Texas, New Jersey and North Carolina extensively – 50%.
- 10+ years of relevant distribution management/leadership experience.
- 3+ years experience of managing 24/7 Cross Dock Operations in California.
- Strong ability to communicate effectively (written & verbal), with excellent interpersonal and customer relations skills.
- Highly organized and process-orientated.
- Ability to multi-task effectively.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Basic quantitative/financial analysis skills.
- Exemplifies strong ownership over projects from start to finish.
- Transport Management System (WMS) experience.
- Cross-functional collaboration.
