Transportation Office Manager

Transportation Office Manager
The Transportation Office Manager coordinates all operations for the office. This position is responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance, maintaining a safe and harmonious working environment, administrative support where needed and is a primary contact point for new customer and driver relationships.

Responsibilities:
- Develop or update procedures, policies, and standards to ensure compliance with OSHA, FMCSA, DOT and any other relevant regulatory body in conjunction with the Safety Committee and management.
- Implement policies, procedures, and service standards in conjunction with management.
- Interpret and communicate work procedures and company policies to staff.
- Provide employees with guidance in handling difficult or complex problems and in resolving escalated complaints or disputes.
- Resolve customer complaints and answer customers’ questions.
- Discuss job performance problems with employees to identify causes and issues and to work on resolving problems in conjunction with any dual reporting relationships.
- Evaluate employees’ job performance and conformance to regulations and recommend appropriate personnel action.
- Train and instruct employees in job duties and company policies or arrange for training to be provided.
- Review records and reports pertaining to activities such as production, payroll, and shipping to verify details, monitor work activities, and evaluate performance.
- Participate in the recruitment, interview, and hiring process.
- Manage office space and facilities including supplies, equipment, maintenance and coordination with building management.
- Remains cross trained in other job functions within the location to provide accurate guidance and coverage where necessary.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or a related field is preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in office management or a related role.
- Previous exposure and demonstrated knowledge of Human Resource management.
- Previous exposure and demonstrated experience with implementing systems and processes.
- Demonstrated experience in providing superior and professional client and vendor service.
- Excellent communicator, in both written and verbal form.
- Independent and self-motivated, with a strong sense of self.
- Experience in a logistics or transportation company a plus.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Problem-solving and analytical skills.
